https://example.com:2443/webmail/ is not secure. Need, short, secure URL that is easy for our clients to remember. Your 54-character URL is not exactly user-friendly.

Precisely our issue. I just added this as a suggestion again. But seeing it was suggested 2 years ago and hasn't made the cut yet is discouraging...
Additionally the support teams attempt to redirect the /webmail url to the cloudhost failed and we're back at square one...

Thanks for the feedback, John. I can definitely understand how it can be a bit confusing and unwieldy to work with the longer cloudhost URLs.
Due to underlying technical limitations, it may not be workable in the short term for https://example.com:2443/webmail to function while passing SSL checks.
However, it should be possible to setup a redirect at least from https://example.com/webmail (without the port) which would redirect automatically to the longer, secure, cloudhost based URL.
If you would like, you could open a ticket with our support team and request that they setup such a redirect for you on a site-by-site basis. Keep in mind that it would simply redirect, so the URL you would ultimately see in your browser would be the longer cloudhost URL. But, it would allow you to be able to bookmark or access webmail with the initial shorter link.
We're currently reviewing this feature now in terms of automatically setting up such a redirect.
