Currently the Technical role in teams does not allow the tech team member to create a staging website. Only the owner and super admins can do this.
We have our technical team members conduct wordpress updates on more complicated website but it's a PITA to have to go in and setup the staging for them first before they can complete the work. It wastes time and should just be accessible to technical team members.

Merging in some suggestions that all have to do with non-intuitive permissions around staging sites. There's a lot we can improve here, I agree.
The root of the problem is that a staging site is a service just like any other service on the account, just one with the price set to $0. So making that an exception to the rules around which roles can order/delete services requires a bigger overhaul of how we do permissions. It's on our radar, but we do not have an ETA at this time.

The Admin should be able to create a user who will have rights to create and delete staging sites. Right now, I have to give access to deletion to all sites if I want to give access to deletion of staging environments

Removing Billing permission on staging sites

Can the permissions for team members be restructured a bit? Currently to allow a tech to work on sites I need to allow them the Billing permission just to create a staging site which has no cost associated with it. I understand that the Dev environment has a cost, since staging doesn't can that be allowed without needing the BIlling permission?
