Share Elasticsearch containers between Dev environments

Magento 2.4 now requires Elasticsearch. At $20 per container, that dramatically increases the cost of dev environments. It would be nice if we could share Elasticsearch containers between dev environments and/or less expensive Elasticsearch containers in dev environments..

Would like to add my vote to this as more and more it is getting quite expensive for the dev environments. For each site we run the main site and then a dev and test environment each with a ElasticSearch and Varnish container. It is really beginning to add up and hard to justify to small/medium clients.
If there was some smaller or price appropriate dev containers available would be great.

Yes there are and I'm glad I'm a nexus client
Have they solved your problem or situation or answered your question?

There's no dates on these feedback posts but I know this one, and a few others I'm interested in, have not progressed at all in months and even years.
This particular issue is now 'Under Review' only.
If nothing changes it just compounds the frustration and unfortunately means we look elsewhere.

Agree on this. Elasticsearch is required to even view categories / rebuild indexes. So magento cannot function without it. At least it should be priced at the same scale as the dev container

Was just about to create a comment for this and I saw this one already existed. Yes, this would be extremely helpful.
