I disagree with the need for a second captcha. Once the system knows it needs a 2fa it should bypass that second captcha — knowing the first captcha has already been submitted and verified to get to this point, it should check for a valid 2fa code. It should not run the captcha code or check it when doing the 2fa process. I know this seems like a nice to have but it just doesn’t make sense to me for interface usability to require the 2fa AND the second captcha on the second step.

Hi Adam. While the captcha being present on both authentication steps is expected, the underlying issue that was preventing "Remember Device for 30 days" caused the double-captcha steps to be experienced every single login. That was not an intentional experience.
With the "Remember Device" issue recently fixed, you should now only experience the double captcha once a month when your device needs to be "remembered" for another 30 days.
