I had a site that from the front end was running fine but in the admin especially the main dashboard was running very slow - 30 seconds to load

I went into phpMyAdmin and noticed a log table was at 2.2GB

I cleared the log and all of the sudden the site works great again.

I suggest if the sysadmins / utilities perhaps do a scan / alert for large database tables - I would think larger than 500mb would be a good limit as generally tables shouldn't get that large - this is more so to protect the servers as well as let people know what's going on with their sites
