Backup Restoration Takes Too Long

It takes HOURS for a restore to take place. The whole point of a backup is the ability to quickly revert to a working copy. I've had restores take upwards of 6 hours. Basically I can't rely on Nexcess backups for live sites.

Thanks for the feedback, Stanton.
The Nexcess daily backups that we maintain for a rolling 30-days are block-level whole system backups that provide us with a robust contingency plan for any data loss that might occur.
Frustratingly, the nature of block-level backup systems mean they can be slower to restore. The offset to this is how fast and how little resources they require to perform the backup.
In general, we still do advise our customers manually generate a backup prior to taking any significant action (major updates, plugin installs, etc) as a targeted local backup like that can be much quicker to restore.
When it's not feasible to have made a backup beforehand, that's where our backups come into play.
However, we're always looking for ways to optimize this and improve upon the restore speeds.
